Inspired by 60s and 70s countercultures, BADLANDS is where subcultures and free spirits meet. It’s 3 days out of the system and all about the love of music, vintage freedom machines, BMX and skate. But also food culture, alternative live music and some proper ink slinging. It’s for those who embrace the unconventional and keep it alive. It’s for those who don’t take themselves too seriously. It’s for the love of one another, and most importantly: for the love of one heck of a party.
Mark yer calendars. 22, 23 & 24 August 2025. BADLANDS #1. Lottum (NL). Let’s roll.

BADLANDS takes place just outside a little town called Lottum, in the North of Limburg, The Netherlands. Exact directions will follow for all ticket buyers.
BADLANDS is all about the love of choppers, music, BMX, skate and that surfin’ spirit. We’re talking food culture, alternative live music and some proper ink slinging. It’s for those who embrace the unconventional and keep it alive. It’s for those who don’t take themselves too seriously. It’s for the love of one another, and most importantly: for the love of one heck of a party.
It seems we have forgotten what festivals are really about: living life to the fullest while enjoying a bit of music, arts, and a whole lotta good company. BADLANDS is bringing it back to basics. No fancy gimmicks that’ll cost you an arm, a leg and then some. What you see is what you get. Good vibes and great times. 3 days out of the system and an alternative to the mainstream modern-day festivals.
Yes! There is a campsite. Only for visitors who choose a full weekend ticket. We unfortunately don’t have enough space to give campsite access to people with a Saturday or Sunday Ticket.
Everyone has their own form of transport. Walking, bicycling, driving or riding. We support you all, and we will await you with open arms.
For those who are riding a pre-1984 motorcycle, you can ride right into the BADLANDS festival field. This is not to exclude anyone, but to maintain the vibe we are going for. We mainly support the traditional 50s, 60s and 70s custom cycles. But if you are riding something pre ‘84 and gave it your own obscure twist, feel free to ride it into the party grounds. For all modern bikes and cars, there will be a parking spot for you. Our Badlands family will give you directions when you arrive.
Both works! But bring some cash if you want to get tattooed or buy stuff from one of the vendors.
Sure thing! Want a stand? Do some creative stuff? We’re open for all. Hit is up: badlandsfest@gmail.com

GHOSTWOMAN is the musical project of Evan Uschenko and Ille van Dessel: a duo group based in Canada/Belgium. They play a blend of psychedelic rock, blues, punk, post punk, rock and roll, shoegaze, classical, and pop. You may remember them from the Oklahoma City bombing in the spring of ’95 or the Hollywood blockbuster “Die Hard” starring Hans Buhringer and Al Leong.
The band issued its self-titled debut in 2022, followed by Anne, If and Hindsight is 50/50 in 2023. That’s 3 albums in 18 months. All killer tracks. Needless to say, we’re stoked Ghostwoman will take the trip to Badlands #1. Saturday August 23rd, primetime. Must-see, we promise.
The mighty Crocodiles are bringing their Californian sunshine tunes to Badlands Festival in The Netherlands! This killer band from San Diego will play on Friday August 22nd, kicking off the weekend like only they can. Expect a fuzzed-out, sun-drenched mix of garage rock, post-punk and psychedelic pop. Don’t miss ‘m!
The People’s Pleasure Grounds is like a vision upon endless beaches with deep blue waves rolling upon a lost paradise. With Jimmy de Kok functioning as the captain, this band will be able to turn venues and meadows into magical Californian scenes. Expect a strong dose of reverb-loaded guitars and dreamy lyrics inspired by bands such as Allah-Las and Babe Rainbow. With their recently released EP and a number of well-received live-shows, the band’s future looks promising. The People’s Pleasure Grounds is the absolute must-see for everyone embracing the sixties surfscene.
Confirmed: Cocobolo. This three-piece outfit hailing from Amsterdam/Haarlem combines surf-ish guitars with psychedelic rock and a solid base of old school funk. The end result? Killer retro soundtracks for your favorite cartoon (check their socials), a surf session, a mountain trip and… Badlands, of course. We’re stoked to have Cocobolo perform on Saturday August 23rd. Give their music a spin or two. We’re sure you’ll love it as much as we do.
Friends of the family Afterpartees will bring their energy to the BADLANDS fields. These local lads have seen and done it all. Afterpartees is the happiest power pop export from sunny Limburg. With their energetic, poppy, and melodic sound—somewhere between Blondie, Parquet Courts, and Jonathan Richman—they’ve already graced festivals like Pinkpop, Lowlands, and Best Kept Secret.
Praised by friends and foes alike as the most fun live band in the country, they live by the motto: “We always give it our all; otherwise, there’s no reason to clap,” says frontman Niek.
Exhilarating, mysterious, cult. If you could describe GUNMOLL in just 3 words, you would get quite far with those terms, but you’re not nearly there yet. This band around Jolien Grünberg and Bram Bol creates an energetic mix of (surf)rock, oriental sounds and pop. The music wouldn’t be out of place as a sonic backdrop to the most bloodcurdling chase scenes of your favorite (cult)movies. Neo-noir (think Tarantino) is also a tag that you could stick on their music. Singer Jolien: “You could say that we sound like Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Queens of the Stone Age had a wild night together, and GUNMOLL was the result”
After years of tearing up the Netherlands as Overijssel’s hardest Rock ‘n Roll duo, Money & The Man are kicking it up a notch as a power trio. Like a Hendrix Experience “on steroids,” Money & The Man come at you full force, with heavy riffs, danceable grooves, and screaming solos flying around!
The band has already shared the stage with Wolfmother, Gene Simmons, Ramkot, and DeWolff and has played at festivals like Paaspop, Zwarte Cross, Dauwpop, Sniester, Manana Manana, and many more. Money & The Man’s show can be described as a ticking time bomb—where everything can be climbed, demolished, and most of all, rocked. Hints of All Them Witches, Hendrix, and The Black Keys make for a guaranteed success for anyone who loves guitars, fuzz, and partying.
Timo van Lierop plays indie-folk mixed with a little surf, country and Americana. Inspired by the big ones from the 60’s and 70’s but very contemporary in his own right. Think Neil Young, Wilco and Kurt Vile. With his self recorded debut album ‘Earth Tones’ he released his first full length LP on Bottom Shelf Records in 2023. Together with the Stardusters they combine more than 20 years of experience to make every concert unique with lots of room for improvisation and smiles.
Psychedelic cumbia, exotic film scores, and danceable grooves form the foundation of Chica Chica’s exciting music. Born from a desire to travel, this trio takes you on a road trip back in time. Funky melodic basslines, wild wah-wah guitars, and South American percussion—organic and grainy, sunny and full of life. Like the analog photograph on your favorite Peruvian vinyl record.

Good folks. Good food. Good fun. Yamma Yamma will serve killer meals, bites and snacks at Badlands, just like they did at the Launch Party. Properly rooted in Mediterranean grub, with a cheeky fling with the Middle East thrown in for good measure. Dang! Tasty.
We’ll share the menu when we get closer to the festival.
Blistering punk and all-out party, coming at you like a freight train. With their performances, which are full-fledged live experiences, they have already built quite a reputation as opening acts for the likes of The Black Lips, Dirty Fences, and ZZZ. FuckFuckFuck. We couldn’t agree more. FuckFuckFuck!
Fuck yeah.
Dutch cultural heritage caught in a 300 pound badass body and some heavy hitting bandmates. Besides of being the mascot for the mighty Peter Pan Speedrock, prehistoric beast Dennis knows how to throw a party BADLANDS style with his band de Røckers. Into rock ‘n roll? Come get yours.
Remember The Blackwax’s Wing playing that killer all vinyl set at the Launch Party? Well, at Badlands his long lost friend Timo (MOOON and loads of other great bands) will join him on guitar. Creating an audiovisual improv show with some great tunes and footage. Come see for yourself.
Zonder Pardon: a crew of friends having fun on and off the bike, anywhere in the world.

The lads are bringing their own mini ramp to Badlands. Bring your bike or deck if you want to join the session!
Loud music for good people. Last Bølt Ceremony from Dortmund combines different styles of rock such as Grunge, Indie, Stoner and Punkrock to create an intense, groovy and varied sound. Geheimtipp: “come on!” – cool track, give it a spin. And also do this with all their other songs.
